What Is SmartLipo™?
On the market since 2006, SmartLipo™ is an FDA-approved fat removal procedure. Although it has the word “lipo” in the name, it is not exactly a standard liposuction treatment. Instead, the procedure is even more minimally invasive.
For instance, the laser required for SmartLipo™ makes a one-millimeter incision versus the cannula–used in liposuction treatments–which can be between three and five millimeters.
During lipolysis, lasers produce enough energy to dissolve tissue into a liquid state. This allows for easier fat removal. Additionally, SmartLipo™ can tighten the skin, encouraging the body to produce more collagen.
Undergoing SmartLipo™ can deliver impressive results. Depending on where you have the procedure done, you can achieve improved contouring across the face and body, tighter and firmer skin, and reduced body fat.
Who Should Consider SmartLipo™?
While SmartLipo™ is an effective treatment, only certain candidates are recommended.
If you have sagging skin from weight loss, childbirth, or aging, especially around the buttocks, upper arms, and neck, you could be a candidate for this treatment.
This is also the case if you have stubborn areas of body fat that have not shrunk despite maintaining a nutritious, balanced diet and regular exercise routine.
It is generally recommended to be at a healthy body weight before considering SmartLipo™, as it cannot accommodate for a lack of exercise or nutrition.
