Dry Skin, Part I

It’s that time of year again…..

The air is cold and dry and for many people that causes dry, tight, flaky skin. It is important to tackle this issue externally as well as internally.

Staying hydrated on the inside is essential. Drinking homemade bone broth is both tasty and nourishing. This beverage is loaded with minerals, protein, and gelatin. Gelatin helps to calm inflammation internally. Keeping inflammation at a minimum benefits every cell in your body. Glowing, hydrated skin is just one of the many benefits to drinking this super food regularly. Another simple way to stay hydrated is to drink warm water with lemon. This beverage also has a very long list of benefits including helping to flush out toxins, improve digestion and it is a great source of Vitamin C.

Be sure to incorporate plenty of “good fats” into your diet, such as avocado, walnuts, and wild salmon. You can also drizzle olive oil on your food. Yummm!!!

These delicious foods will help support your entire system as well as keep your skin hydrated.

One last tip: sleep with a humidifier in your room as needed!

Stay tuned for Part II!
