Facelift & Neck Lift

Dr. Andrea Doyle performs facelift and neck lift surgery for men and women who are unhappy with common signs of aging such as loose facial skin, deep wrinkles or folds, and the appearance of jowls. When performing facial rejuvenation surgery, Dr. Doyle is careful to personalize the procedure to the unique needs of each of her patients. The result is a more youthful face that still looks completely natural.

Who is facial rejuvenation surgery for?

The facelift and neck lift procedures are most common for men and women in their early 40s through late 60s. A facelift may also be performed as a preventative procedure during your mid- to- late 30s to help strengthen facial structures and slow the effects of aging.

Facelift surgery addresses skin laxity, facial folds, and wrinkles in the mid-to-lower regions of the face. For example, if you’re tired of seeing jowls or nasolabial folds when you look in the mirror, facelift surgery can help to restore that part of the face. Dr. Doyle often performs a neck lift in combination with the facelift to address loose skin along the neck (turkey neck) or deep bands around the neck. This will help achieve a more natural-looking outcome and avoid an unbalanced appearance.

If you are also concerned about signs of aging around your upper or lower eyelids, Dr. Doyle can supplement your facelift and neck lift with an eyelid lift for an even more complete rejuvenation of the face.

The facelift and neck lift procedure

Dr. Doyle is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Her years of experience and attention to detail allow her to create beautiful, youthful outcomes without significantly changing her patients’ natural appearance.

Prior to your surgery, Dr. Doyle will help to determine whether you are best suited for a full face and neck lift, or if just one or the other is necessary to achieve your personal goals. Incisions are used to carefully lift the skin and access the underlying muscle and tissues of the face. From there, Dr. Doyle can lift the facial muscle as needed and reshape the underlying tissue to create a naturally-youthful shape. In some cases, facial liposuction may be used to reduce any stubborn fat in the surrounding areas. Dr. Doyle will then carefully pull the skin tight and remove any excess amounts to reveal smoother, younger-looking facial contours.

Facelift and neck lift recovery and results

Once your facial rejuvenation surgery is complete, you will be able to return home that same day under the care of a loved one. Due to the effects of the general anesthesia, it will be a couple of days, however, before you can drive.

For the first couple of weeks, you will need to wear a special compression garment or elastic bandages while your skin heals. Bruising or swelling is to be expected during this time, but will gradually fade during the recovery process. Most people are able to return to work and social activities about two weeks after their facelift. Makeup can be worn to help conceal any persisting bruises.

Patience is key when recovering from a facial plastic surgery procedure, as it will be some time before you notice your final results. When the bandages first come off a couple weeks after surgery, you may notice some post-surgical signs, but your face will appear several years younger. As your skin continues to heal and scars begin to fade, it will feel as though you are looking at a version of yourself from the past—the youthful and vibrant person you still are on the inside. Dr. Doyle is known for providing her patients with youthful, natural-looking facelift results that often come with an empowering boost in self-confidence.
